J.G. Ballard (R.I.P.) 1930 - 2009

The passing of one of the most important novelists, meta-theorists, socio-politico-cultural observers and as well as one of the few most influential figures in alternative thinking on musicians and cultural workers for the past few decades, meant another nail in the coffin of the Modernist age. Go read "Crash" and "The Atrocity Exhibition" instead of his popular titles like "Empire Of The Sun" to have your mind altered. May his ideas and words live on...

Ha ha ha perhaps Conservative/fundamentalist religious/Republican (though Democrats are just that a bit better) Americans are so hated in today's world because of their knowing we-are-holier-than-thou mindset. Just like so many people who just read commentaries, reviews and articles but do not actually read the texts themselves. So many before us have just condemned Nobokov, Burroughs, Wilde, and countless other great writers and they just latch on to what they read in secondary sources and decide that they have read enough and let's tear this "decadent" ones apart or banish them to hell.
