A History of Singapore's Experimental Music

Someone wrote a pretty in-depth history piece chronicling the experimental music scene in Singapore at this link.

His name is Darren Moore. He is both an insider and an outsider; he was teaching at one of the local arts tertiary institution for years and was involved in the organising of events as well performing as a musician in the local scene. He is an outsider at the same time as he was an expat here, looking in at the evolution of the happenings here. Objective, biased, personal or... well like all histories, there are many perspectives, versions, takes and spins on events and personalities, significant or not, pivotal or trivial. The added plus point to the history is his embedded sound bites and recordings of many artists and events he mentioned in his long article so that serves an excellent soundtrack to one's reading experience.

Have some fun getting to find out more about the Singaporean and extended scenes in Southeast and associated regional connections. Musicking as networked distribution and empowerment?
