11 July 2019

The Observatory are back with another edition of Black Kaji, a festival aims at celebrating and spreading the experimental, the adventurous, the modern and the contemporary in music today from Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Taking place across the weekend on 20 and 21 July 2019, the line up features not just Singapore resident avant rock outfit cum curator of the festival but also Setabuhan, another musical project of Rully Shabara of avant atavist duo Senyawa from Indonesia, prominent Egyptian electronic musician cum previous The Wire mag cover star Nadah El Shazly from Cairo, Ujikaji Records stable artist Pupa and rising Singapore electronic artist Fauxe, amongst many others.

A collaborative effort with Goethe-Institut, it is an event not to be missed for those living in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Honoured and psyched to be invited to be part of the Discourse panel session on 21 July, I hope to see old friends and meet new ones there.

And see you there.
