Renowned avant Japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama will be playing in Singapore this coming Friday! A very versatile musician who can jump in and rock out as much as blend in to collectively improvise and soaring to great heights playing free and furious. He has released many solo albums as well as playing in various assortments of collaborative work since the late 1990s with Martin Ng, Jason Kahn, Anla Courtis, Tom Carter and many more. I personally enjoy the two following titles best:
He had played with another Japanese guitar/music giant, Keiji Haino, in the past as well. Yan Jun, the ubiquitous Chinese avant/experimental music mover & shaker will be joining him that night too, rounding off by local experimental musician, Yuen Chee Wai, who is currently a member of Singapore top avant-rock band, The Observatory. It should be a blast to catch them this Friday.
